"It was a lovely place to stay. We were travelers for the Chatsworth House and stayed here 1 night. Our room was excellent, and the food - for dinner and breakfast (both continental and english) was fantastic!"

"The Manor House hotel is located in the centre of Dronfield, in itself a fascinating ex steel town.
The hotel has a long history and has been well maintained. My room was clean and well furnished. The bathroom was also clean and well looked after.
Breakfast was of a very good standard. Staff were attentive at all times.
I was very pleased to stay at the Manor House hotel."

We booked a 2 night stay here to celebrate my wife's birthday , we wanted a relaxing weekend and the white horse seemed to offer what we were looking for . Right from check-in i realised we had definitely picked the right place . We received a warm and friendly welcome and were shown to our room . We picked a junior suit and there was nothing junior about it. We found it big , bright and offered everything we wanted . Very clean and well presented.

Only stayed for one night on way home, wished was longer. Fabulous hotel in a lovely setting that would be a perfect base for local attractions. Staff very friendly and helpful, room great with gorgeous view and breakfast excellent. Arrived late but squeezed in a drink at bar...food menu looked good.

The management, front of house, waiting and cleaning staff where all very polite and extremely helpful.
The room which was on the M1 and A38 side of the hotel had excellent triple glazing so we experienced no noise at all. It was a large room that was air conditioned with a big radiator and a fan plus all the of the other items you expect in a hotel room.
The breakfast offered was excellent and wide ranging in its provision, from carnivores to vegetarians and vegans, from fried breakfasts...

The hotel is in a very old quirky building, yet the owners have managed to bring the facilities up to a modern standard. The room was spacious and comfortable with very good tea making items, we enjoyed it all.

Lovely characterful hotel in a great location. We were upgraded in to a four poster room. Although the bed dominated the room there was still room for a sofa, desk and chairs. In addition there was a very spacious ensuite with a modern finish and great fittings. The staff were very welcoming and keen to help.
The villagers of Pilsley were very friendly. Just up the road is the Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop which has a brilliant selection of foodstuffs for those wanting the odd snack, souvenirs...

The best area to stay in Tupton is generally within the village itself, particularly around the central area where the main amenities are located.
Tupton is a village in Derbyshire, known for its residential feel and convenient access to surrounding areas. The main road through the village, Chesterfield Road, is where you'll find most of the local shops, eateries, and services. It's a linear village, so staying close to this thoroughfare ensures you're never too far from what you might need.
For families, staying near the Tupton Hall School area can be a good option. This part of the village is more residential and typically quiet, with easy access to local parks and green spaces, offering a pleasant environment for children. It's also well-connected for day trips to attractions like the Peak District National Park.
Couples looking for a relaxed stay with easy access to local pubs and dining options will find the central part of Tupton appealing. Many of the local establishments are within walking distance of each other, making for convenient evenings out.
When is the best time to go to Tupton?
The best time to go to Tupton is during the late spring and summer months, from May to September, when the weather is generally at its finest.
During this period, you'll experience warmer temperatures and longer daylight hours, which are ideal for exploring the local countryside and attractions. The village and surrounding Derbyshire Dales truly come alive, making it superb for outdoor activities like walking, cycling, and visiting nearby historical sites. You'll find more local events and markets taking place, adding to the local experience.
Couples looking for a relaxing getaway will appreciate the pleasant weather for strolls through the countryside or enjoying a pub garden. The extended daylight hours allow for leisurely evenings and more time to explore without feeling rushed.
Families will find the summer months particularly convenient for school holidays, allowing for a stress-free trip. The warmer weather makes visits to local parks or attractions like the nearby Chatsworth House more enjoyable for all ages.
