The magnificent Hall of the Four Heavenly Kings in Linyan Temple brings Buddhist pilgrims seeking spiritual solace to the city from across China. King Qian’s Memorial is a perfect spot for the more secular pursuit of simply watching the world go by. For a lovely view over the city you should climb to the top of the Six Harmonies Pagoda. Explore the legendary West Lake by walking or cycling around its perimeter. There are picturesque gardens that line the lake and in them you can often catch performances such as opera singing or acrobatics.
