The ZTG was very convenient for an overnight stay prior to flying out of China. I was recently in China and my point of entry and exit was Hangzhou. This was my first time staying at the ZTG but overall I was pleased. The biggest challenge I encountered being unable to speak Chinese was interacting with the front desk, at some times there were limited English speakers around which made communicating a challenge, but other times there were individuals at the front desk that spoke very good English and that made things very smooth. The rooms were better than expected, very high quality and modern, well maintained and very clean. The Shuttle bus to the airport was also readily available. The hotel did store my check bag while I traveled further into China which was very convenient. Overall, I would recommend with the caveat that you may run into some language barrier if you do not speak Chinese.
I have to say, this is a fabulous hotel! The owners have obviously spent a fortune on fitting the whole hotel out to a very high standard and it shows. The rooms are excellent, new, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also superb. I really would have liked to give this hotel a 5 star rating, but, as with many Chinese hotels, they just need to train the staff a little more to provide that 5 star level of service. The check-in time is too slow, changing money is too slow, arranging transport required half a dozen staff and check out also too too long. This will improve and I'll be back when I have the chance.
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff, especially Eason, was super friendly and was able to communicate clearly in both Mandarin and English. Staff was timely in meeting our requests for extra towels and ice, in addition to satisfying our request to have non-smoking rooms.
Tip: If you're in a time crunch, there's a BreadTalk bakery attached right to the hotel with equally friendly staff.
As the location of Hangzhou's primary airport and sports center, condo towers have recently sprung up in this previously rural area. As a result, the Xiaoshan has become a hotbed for industrial development and is a leading producer of everything from auto parts to textiles. Xiaoshan exemplifies China's development and provides insight into the progression of the entire country.
