This was extremely misleading for non-China tourists like myself. Something has to be done about this error on their booking website, and the refund process was extremely tedious with slow replies and them refusing to refund me saying the hotel did not permit. I called the hotel myself, who generously offered a refund, and only then did Expedia begin to process a refund.
