"The Marine Hotel, Sutton,Dublin"
Loved the location, and the fact the hotel backed onto a beautiful beach with wonderful views across the Dublin coast. Transport links were excellent, and the staff were hardworking and polite. The Meridian restaurant at hotel was of a very high standard:great food and generous portions. Only criticism is no drinking water provided in rooms.

"Pleasant Location"
Due to unforeseen circumstances we arrived much later than expected but were greeted by a welcoming, friendly receptionist. We asked if there was any possibility of having something to eat and we were offered a selection of hot or cold sandwiches as the restaurant facilities were closed. The order was taken quickly and our food arrived in our room promptly. This was very much appreciated and were presented beautifully with additional accompaniments. Although our room was a little dated and dark we did have a good night's sleep. Unfortunately in the morning we awoke to having no power in our room which prevented us from using the tea making facilities. This was addressed promptly after making a call to reception. All in all a comfortable stay in a wonderful location.

"Good hotel pity about management attitude"
On arrival at the hotel the reception is on the 2nd floor we given our room keycards and went to the room which was on the ground floor but it seemed as though we going into the cellar down a staircase, no lift, had to carry suitcases. The room although it had good facilities was quite small (would suit 1 person) we asked at reception if there was another room which they found on the 3rd floor, with lift access, arrived at the room excellent space as we had been use to on our tour of Ireland( 4 other hotels) just getting settled when the door came open, no knock, and a member of staff entered snatched up 2 bottles of water and the 2 towelling robes from the wardrobe and said we could not have these items as it was a premium room. These items were seen in the smaller room so believe this to be a management decision We just looked at each other and shrugged. Did wonder if first room offered was because we had paid before arrival

Wasn't amazing, we didn't eat there and seemed busy with large groups. Rooms were nice and clean. Needs modernizing in areas but good value otherwise

"Perfect for an early morning flight"
We stayed here so that we could Get to the airport in time for our early morning flight back to the states. It was perfect. Quiet at Night, good beds, had a meal at the bar which was fine. You do not need to call for the shuttle, it just cycles through the airport every 20 minutes. Would definitely consider staying here again, particularly after an overnight flight from the U.S. , when you simply need some time to sleep and adjust to jet lag...

    Pocket Guide: Sutton

    Hotels @ Sutton

Sutton promises a warm welcome to all its visitors and you can be safe in the knowledge that the range of hotels in the area caters for any budget. From luxury hotels to homely bed and breakfasts – and even a refurbished fort – there is accommodation to suit every taste.

Sutton is wonderfully located in Dublin’s Northside, at the base of Howth Head, on the peninsula forming the northern edge of Dublin Bay.

There are a number of hotels in Sutton itself, centred on Sutton Cross, the main commercial district. But the whole Dublin Bay area has accommodation with the warmth and character that is to be expected from this friendly city.

With Dublin airport only a short drive away there is the added option of a number of airport hotels that give the visitor a chance to sample the delights of Sutton while still being handily located for any trips further afield.

    Hotels for Nature Lovers

With its rugged coastline and sandy beaches, lovers of outdoor pursuits and water sports will want to be based as close to the water as possible. Birdwatchers, anglers and sailors will all be keen to make the most of the accommodation on offer.

The Perfect Place to Stay in Sutton for Fans of Golf

Fans of the fairway are well looked after in this part of the world. As well as a picturesque links course in Sutton, the Portmarnock Golf Course is located just to the north of the town. Golfers of all standards can stay in the hotels near to the course to make the most of their time here.

    Hotels with Sutton Charm

With Dublin city centre so close it is remarkable how unspoilt Sutton and the surrounding area is and this does limit the number of hotels available outside the main urban area of the Irish capital.

But with accommodation to the standard of the Marine Hotel – situated ideally at Sutton Cross – it is not something to be unduly worried about. With its rolling lawns stretching to the shoreline of Dublin Bay, visitors are advised to book up early. But if you do miss out there’s always a warm welcome at a few comfy bed and breakfasts just a few minutes down the road.

For those wanting more of an urban experience there are plenty of hotels to choose from in the centre of Dublin, but if you plan your accommodation early enough a relaxing stay in Sutton is guaranteed.

    Planning Your Visit to Sutton

Visitors should think about booking their hotels early if they are planning to join in with the world famous St Patrick’s Day festivities in the middle of March.

Sutton is also ideally placed both for the Dublin Bay Prawn Festival at the start of June and also April’s Midsummer Arts and Literature Festival in neighbouring Howth.

Where Will You Stay in Sutton?

With the tranquillity and serenity of its coastal location, and the cosmopolitan Irish capital practically on its doorstep, Sutton is a wonderful place to visit at any time of the year and its hotels are always ready to welcome you with open arms.
