After a long day of sight seeing and boat tours it’s a great place to get home to. Great views, close enough to Ellsworth to get all the food and supplies you need. Only thing to improve are the beds. They are comfy but you roll to the middle..

After a 12 hour drive, it was such a relief to arrive at this lovely property. The cabin included all of the necessary essentials and we woke up to the most fabulous waterfront view! The property is tucked into the woods and very peacefully secluded. We enjoyed about a 40 minute scenic drive to Bar Harbour, as well as Acadia National Park on a daily basis. We would definitely stay there again!!!

There were 4 adults that stayed at this wonderful place and there was plenty of room for us all. The cottage was just perfect in every way. (5 stars for cleanliness, 5 stars for comfort, 5 stars for location, 5 stars for everything else too!). The beds were very comfortable, bathrooms were so clean. The kitchen had everything needed from the coffee pot in the morning to the lobster pot at night. The views from the deck were beautiful every moment of the day. The cottage is located in between the scoodic peninsula and Acadia, and we were able to enjoy so much including some hidden gems. This was our 2nd time to stay here and we will be back.

What a perfect place to relax and enjoy this area! This home was immaculate and had everything you could need for a perfect Maine vacation. You could never leave the house and be content with the beautiful view from the deck. Everything Acadia has to offer is a short drive away. Susan was a caring host and checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. I enjoyed chating with her and learning the history of this beautiful Maine home.

We knew we picked the right place when we arrived and saw the big picture window looking I er the water. Communication with proper owner was quick and efficient. Though roomy, there are many interesting items around the spacious cabin. The porch was an added bonus that not only provided a stunning view of the water, but the night sky. Rooms spacious and well-organized. Would definitely rent again.

This was an absolutely magical and peaceful retreat. We were surrounded by nature and serenity. There are birds everywhere and it is a joy to watch them soaring around the bay. There is so much history with this property and care and respect for the land really shines through. The house is impeccably clean and well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We were able to sleep peacefully uninterrupted by noise and feel restored from our stay. I was genuinely sad to leave! If you are looking for a place to stay away from the hustle and bustle this is the place for you. Thank you for a magnificent visit to Maine!

We stayed at the ocean cottage as a base to explore Acadia National Park and surrounding areas. The cottage was so peaceful and a wonderful break from the hustle and bustle of the national park. We all enjoyed the wildlife viewed from the deck or the living room window. My favorite was listening to the bald eagles chatter in the mornings and watching them fly past or perch out on the rocks at low tide. During high tide we had a seal that frequented the cove as well. The cottage had everything that we needed for our stay (the washer and dryer was a huge plus!) and a wealth of information on things to do in the area. It is a bit of a drive into Desert Island, but well positioned to explore the Schoodic Peninsula. Would definitely stay again if we make it back to the area!

What a beautiful property! Well kept, private, secluded, surrounded by woods, quiet, and serene are just some of the words to describe it. Coming here reminded me of childhood trips with my family. The cabin was perfect for four people, and was well stocked with anything you might need, and things you didn’t realize you needed. Sitting on the deck looking out over the cove felt so peaceful. No boat traffic, no noise. We saw eagles, ospreys, otters, and deer. Several turkeys came out of the woods and walked right by us. A hummingbird tried to land on my knee. Seeing the stars at night with no light pollution was amazing! A walk down to the beach is a must. We enjoyed our stay, and would have loved to been able to stay longer. We highly recommend this place. You won’t be disappointed.

The property as described is secluded within nature surrounded by woods with water views through a wall of windows. It is a living picture post card. The cottage is wonderfully equipped with anything you may need for cooking or have forgotten in your packing. Every morning was a breathtaking treat with water views and the cacophony of bird chatter. Watching the mist lift revealed the detail in the current, and the flight of several types if birds. In the evening, the moon pops against a backdrop of deep blue sky, framed by the tall pines and/or spruce. Truly a blessed location! Sullivan is about 50 minutes of no traffic to the typical areas for hiking such as Cadillac Mountain and spectacular coastal hikes. We did both moderately challenging and simple hikes. There is something for every outdoor explorer level. Bar Harbor was bustling with shops, tours, and restaurants. We enjoyed leaving the busier hiking areas at the end of the day and driving back home each evening to the solace of the cottage and rural Sullivan. We wouldn't have had it any other way. In and near Sullivan, some good restaurants, pottery, and antique shops. Also, not too far we enjoyed the quaint, low key Southwest Harbor. This historic cottage is a special place and we are grateful to have serendipitously found it in enough time to cancel our original reservations at an alternate location. Susan, the owner was pleasant, helpful with recommendations, and easily accessible during and after booking. I cannot recommend with any greater degree of certainty that you will fall in love with this property and the natural beauty of Maine as did we!

The property is beautiful and the view is amazing. It is a remote, tranquil property where you can get away and totally relax. You are at least 45 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The only issue is the WIFI at the property is extremely slow.

We loved our stay at this property. It came fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay. It was very clean and cozy. The kids loved the giant telescope and going down to the water every morning to see what treasures they could find. My husband and I loved waking up to the peace and quiet and just sitting out on the big deck watching the lobster boats or occasional sail boat out in the water. We would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed the beautiful and comfy waterfront cabin. The location is perfect for exploring Acadia! We saw bald eagles and ospreys fly right by the deck. We enjoyed the company of a chunky raccoon. Also, this is conveniently located close to a small market and Ruth & Wimpys for dinner.

This is our favorite rental property in Maine and we return every year! The peaceful seclusion of the cove, the beautiful view from the living space and the deck, the access to good restaurants and day trips to Bar Harbor, the 1/4 mile drive from the house to the main road that makes you feel like you're living in a forest - we love it all! Susan is the perfect host and in the 6-7 years since we've been coming we've never had an issue. Beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked, water pressure in the shower is good, and even in July/August it's never felt stuffy inside, thanks to the overhead fans - crank open the windows and enjoy the breeze and beauty of the cove!

Spent a few days in a very special place surrounded by pristine nature. The cottage was welcoming and full of history. Owners, Jim and Susan, and the property manager, Ernie, were readily available and truly cared about our well-being. We made beautiful memories and hope to come back in the future!

We had a great time at this beautiful home away from home. Susan was amazing, we had run into an issue with the accommodations we had before our scheduled stay here and Susan made it possible for us to check into her beautiful family home a day early! What a Blessing that was. The home was very clean and comfortable. The views amazing! So quiet and relaxing just hanging out watching the eagles soar and the seals play was so cool! A real gem!
