Night away The hotel was brilliant the only down side was the lack of air-conditioning because the room was very hot. The food in the restaurant was amazing. The Porter service was a treat.

Help inspire a new generation of archaeologists with a trip to Sutton Hoo or have a go at sailing or kayaking at Alton Watersports Centre. Suffolk for Family-Friendly Hotels

Under two year olds can often stay for free, while slightly older children can have their own roll-away bed in their parents room for a small charge. Some hotels and guesthouses have special family rooms or rooms with interconnecting doors. Or if you want a little extra space and some handy cooking facilities, you'll find a choice of apartments available, which also offer separate bedrooms so you won't have to go to sleep at the same time as the children.

Other facilities aimed to make your family stay as stress-free as possible include availability of high chairs, healthy children's menus in the hotel restaurant and swimming pools. At some hotels, such as Seckford Hall Hotel, you'll also find extra treats for the adults, such as a spa - and to make sure you can enjoy it fully, they offer a babysitting service (charged extra). From big-name brand chain hotels to independent bolt-holes, when you arrive in Suffolk with your family you'll find plenty of places to stay that welcome children of all ages.
