"Friendly nice hotel"
Warm welcome. Big room with very comfortable bed and everything you could reasonably expect, plus bottled water. About a twenty minute walk into Southwold but worth that for the comfort of the hotel. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast.

"Still Bury's Best"
This is not our first stay at the Angel so we were familiar with the excellent position in the middle of Bury St Edmonds and the facilities. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful especially the parking team who work tirelessly juggling cars around the the small amount of space they have and always offer to carry bags to your room. Food is always of a high standard, the restaurant gets busy as does the lovely crypt bar at weekends so best to book. It's not the cheapest option but it's good. We didn't have breakfast as we were always too full from the previous night's meal but have had it in the past and it was lovely. Our room was front facing, a good size but there were a couple of issues which needed attention such a a fraying and stained divan base and very shabby, blown bath panel which we brought to their attention and they said they were grateful....there's shabby chic or just plain shabby and that's not expected from a hotel of the Angel's standard. Having said that the bed was really comfortable, the TV in the room very decent and free water, teas and coffee and toiletries great. We would definitely go back and recommend The Angel unreservedly.

"Close to the shops and resturants."
We had a warm welcome from the receptionist who told us we had a free upgrade. The room was at the back and was warm and welcoming. A large well lit bathroom with lovely fluffy towels.

"Nice location, great views."
Have stayed here a few times, location is ace, rooms are comfy and clean, bathrooms nice. Service in the bar is always poor when busy, is well known for it locally, been the same for years, despite a change of owners! Otherwise, nice place to stay. About right for a mid range hotel.

"Lovely, friendly B&B"
Stayed for two nights at Ixworth House. Very easy to find and easy parking. Our hosts emailed in advance to book a table at a local pub for dinner. Both suggested lots of local activities if needed and we visited a local National Trust property. Breakfast lovely; excellent experience, far superior to a hotel. Highly recommend.

"A lovely hotel close to Ipswich"
We were looking for a nice quiet hotel close to Ipswich. This hotel fitted that bill perfectly. The setting was lovely, the staff were friendly, the room was comfortable and the breakfast was one of the nicest I have had. It also had a great leisure facility. I would highly recommend this hotel.

    Suffolk for Family-Friendly Hotels

Under two year olds can often stay for free, while slightly older children can have their own roll-away bed in their parents room for a small charge. Some hotels and guesthouses have special family rooms or rooms with interconnecting doors. Or if you want a little extra space and some handy cooking facilities, you'll find a choice of apartments available, which also offer separate bedrooms so you won't have to go to sleep at the same time as the children.

Other facilities aimed to make your family stay as stress-free as possible include availability of high chairs, healthy children's menus in the hotel restaurant and swimming pools. At some hotels, such as Seckford Hall Hotel, you'll also find extra treats for the adults, such as a spa - and to make sure you can enjoy it fully, they offer a babysitting service (charged extra). From big-name brand chain hotels to independent bolt-holes, when you arrive in Suffolk with your family you'll find plenty of places to stay that welcome children of all ages.
