"Not a very friendly welcome and no help with luggage ( no elevator). Friendly breakfast gal and a pub and eatery downstairs and right next door. Waterfront walk if weather is nice"

"This property was perfect for us. Sandy was so nice when we arrived early. We love to be able to have a window open and see outside. It’s nothing fancy but it was clean and host was fantastic."

"We stayed in the Churchill Room which was very comfortable. The food was fantastic with a great choice of wines. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble, would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel. "

Property was quiet, a bit of noise from, other guests but only to be expected.
This is quite a large hotel but we visited in February so I cannot vouch for what it is like in summer.
Location is good and is convenient for beach, supermarkets and public transport.
The staff we dealt with were efficient and friendly.
We would visit again.

Harbour View room, top floor, has decent views of the beach and small harbour. Bathroom door handle needed a neater repair, room lock was a bit tricky and temporary heater had a broken foot. Super staff and breakfast was fine. Dining room view of the harbour great.

Fabulous location, good food, nice staff.
Bedroom door had terrible squeak, saw the handyman and he said he would fix it, but didn’t! In the morning took a long time to check out as the computer would not upload, it was 9.30! Parking £6.50 a night, not stated on the booking🙄

We liked how clean and fresh this property was. We found it very comfortable.
Milk, teabags, coffee, wheaten bread, butter, cheese, oil and spices were all provided, as well as fresh flowers.
There was an abundance of local animals to enjoy watching: horses, cows, sheep and housemartins.
The pool table in the sun room was a welcome addition.
All the bedrooms were spacious with excellent quality bedding. The downstairs master suite was particularly attractive.
We would love to return!

Which area of Stranraer, Scotland, United Kingdom is best to stay in for convenient parking?
For convenient parking, the town centre and waterfront area of Stranraer is an excellent choice for travellers. This vibrant hub, particularly around the seafront and Harbour/Marine Lake, offers several large public car parks, such as Port Rodie with 238 spaces and Harbour/Marine Lake with 200 spaces, making parking significantly easier than in the more restricted central streets.
For those prioritising practicality and easy access, consider accommodation near Harbour/Marine Lake or Port Rodie, where the largest public car parks are located. Alternatively, the London Road and Stair Park area offers a good option if you prefer free or nearby parking and don't mind being slightly outside the immediate town centre. The Agnew Crescent and waterfront side also presents an attractive option, providing proximity to attractions with reported free parking at some properties.
We advise against relying on the busiest central streets, like Rose Street, or other restricted zones, as many spaces require a parking disc and have length-of-stay limits.
