"Everything is beautiful, bedroom, bathroom, bar area. We ate in the grill restaurant which was also fabulous! The glazed cauliflower side is to die for! I would definitely recommend it."

"Delighted with our room! It was very clean and fresh and well stocked with tea/coffee/chocolate, plus toiletries. The shower was easy to use, the water hot and plentiful, and the towels were thick and fluffy. The bed had a feather duvet which made it very luxurious and super cosy! The staff we met were polite, helpful and a credit to the company. We didn't use Restaurant next door for breakfast, but we did have an evening meal there (a cheese burger - two patties - and a chicken parmo - breaded chicken with tomato puree and garlic and cheese topping). The food was hot, the portion size generous and fantastic value for money. This place is ideal for visiting Beamish, or the Tanfield Railway (like we did). Seriously can't recommend it enough!"

"On the whole it was ok , wasn’t overly impressed with the room it was basic and for over £200 for 1 night I’ve had better in the city before so won’t be back. The room was at the end of an extremely long hall giving The shining vibes ha ha. No plugs or usb ports beside the bed an the room also had connecting doors on both sides which I feel we should have been made aware of at check in not a big deal for some but I personally don’t like it prefer only one door to access the room. The bathroom was very dated and in need of modernisation shower over the bath with a shower curtain fixed shower head which isn’t the best especially when it was so low I had to duck under it an the rubber bath mat kept slipping. All that is manageable but we only got one hand towel and bath towel between 2 we never noticed until half hour before checkout as we got up late. The reception staff were very chatty on check in but failed to mention there was a run going on the next day and we couldn’t leave until 3pm due to road closures we parked in their car park. Raised my concerns when checking out to a very uninterested an unhelpful receptionist. So definitely won’t be back here to stay!!!"

"Great breakfast selection from cooked English, eggs cooked fresh to order. Along with a really well freshly stocked continental breakfast choices. Great location for travelling into the centre of town or out of town. Rooms really comfy and free complementary drinks in the mini fridge. "
