"Primarily chosen as it was near to an event we were attending at the Nene Valley Railway (a short drive from the pub). We liked that the accommodation was in a separate building to the pub (although the pub was not loud). Good breakfast, evening meals, and friendly staff. We have a lovely walk around the village one evening, went back following day to try the local tea rooms but they closed early which was a shame. Will definitely stay here again"

From the moment of our arrival we where made to feel very much at home. All rooms are exquisitely furnished and extremely comfortable. The main sitting room has beautiful views over Rutland waters. I believe we most probably had the best meal we ever had in England. The chef deserves at least three Michelin stars. Dominique chose some excellent wines for us, he certainly knows his job. I needed a overnight stopover on route to Peterborough, so research i did, i located this hidden gem. After making the reservation i received a welcome email with relevant info regarding my proposed visit, a very nice touch i thought, I was greeted on the day by Beverley who is so lovely, she shown me my room and explained the various details as one required, the room was spacious and very tastefully decorated, I was greeted by double bed with clean linen and very soft and cosy mattress, flat...

This hotel is full of character. The floors have original timber floorboards and even have an authentic’creak’ when you walk over them. If you like ‘olde worlde’ places you’ll like staying at the Mansion House. The staff were extremely friendly and polite which really made my stay enjoyable. I stayed over Christmas so there was only a skeleton staff but I had everything I needed and was always warm and comfortable.
