"A great place to stay if your on a business tripmas I was or looking to book yourself a treat. Great room, although note I was in room 5 which lovely, but was over the outside part where music is piped to people sitting outside. This didn't switch off until about 11pm. Aside from that top hotel"

"Receptionists were very welcoming, informative and friendly. We found all staff to be friendly and helpful. The bar staff worked extremely hard, and dealt with the volume of customers in a friendly, respectful and professional manner. Breakfast and service were very good, staff friendly and helpful. My only very small grip would be the quality of the black pudding, very poor and too thin to be called ‘black pudding’. I was very disappointed, as it’s my favourite breakfast item. Delighted with our room, very clean, well presented, lovely decor, everything worked really well, we especially enjoyed the powerful shower. We would definitely stay here again, and would highly recommend this hotel to all our family and friends. Thank you for helping in making our stay a memorable one with our very dear friends. "Just returned for a 3 night break at The William Cecil. It is a charming, old hotel ideally situated for a walk into Stamford or as a base to explore the region. It is clean and well maintained with plenty of parking. All the staff we encountered during our stay were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. We had a small, "Cosy" room which, again, was clean with a large, comfortable bed. The only downside was the absence of storage for clothes which meant we were living out of a suitcase. The was no wardrobe or drawers and the only cupboard was taken by the tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. Four hangers on two coat hooks fixed to the door to the room is inadequate for a four star hotel. Breakfast was excellent. Freshly cooked food served by cheerful staff was a definite plus. All in all a good break and would definitely stay again although would probably opt for a larger room"

"Great place to stay, good breakfast only would have liked mushrooms with my fry up. There was a mug missing from the room, so my husband had to watch me drink my cup of tea!"
