William Cecil

"Just returned for a 3 night break at The William Cecil. It is a charming, old hotel ideally situated for a walk into Stamford or as a base to explore the region. It is clean and well maintained with plenty of parking. All the staff we encountered during our stay were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. We had a small, "Cosy" room which, again, was clean with a large, comfortable bed. The only downside was the absence of storage for clothes which meant we were living out of a suitcase. The was no wardrobe or drawers and the only cupboard was taken by the tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. Four hangers on two coat hooks fixed to the door to the room is inadequate for a four star hotel. Breakfast was excellent. Freshly cooked food served by cheerful staff was a definite plus. All in all a good break and would definitely stay again although would probably opt for a larger room"
Orton Hall Hotel & Spa

"The hotel grounds are lovely and it’s a good location but ideally need a car to get to and town. The rooms themselves are a little dated but spacious and comfortable. They were very clean but they are dark and need better lighting. We ate in the restaurant and my meal wasn’t the best but the breakfast was fresh and well stocked. The spa was clean and a nice addition but the men’s changing rooms were not great. The women’s changing rooms would be better with cubicles to change. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Overall a nice stay and would come back."

"Great place to stay, good breakfast only would have liked mushrooms with my fry up. There was a mug missing from the room, so my husband had to watch me drink my cup of tea!"
Delta Hotels by Marriott Peterborough

"On arrival a car with no blue badge was parked in the disabled bay to the right of main entrance. I gave the registration number and showed a picture to the person on the reception desk. He didn’t seem interested and said he thought it was a member of staff and it was obvious he wasn’t going to do anything about it. Unfortunately as a blue badge holder I am finding this becoming an increasingly common approach to managing disabled parking."

"Convenient location near to centre of Stamford town centre. Limited on-site parking for 5-6 cars, but not an issue for us. Very friendly, helpful and welcoming host. Room clean, beds comfortable. Light breakfast in room included. Handrails on stairs could use a clean. At the price, I would recommend."

"The room was great and well-appointed although, as we had an upgrade, I can’t vouch for the ‘cozy’ doubles. We had an excellent breakfast and the staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is very well situated for the centre of Stamford."
Barton Hall Hotel & Spa

"Outstanding hotel with outstanding staff. Only problem was with the shower plug not draining the water fast enough which could have caused a flood plus bathroom extractor fan wasn't working. Other than that, all was good. Would recommend 👍"
