"The Raffaello is well located in the center of Urbino. It is a serious climb to reach it, but that is true of everything in Urbino. Our reception was rushed and callous. "Hotel was excellent and with free parking near entrance. it is about 2KM from the city center up one hill after another with no pedestrian lane so we chose to drive and parked in 6 level garage with a shopping center on levels 7-10. We visited the castello in the afternoon and did not wait around for restaurants to open at 8 PM. So we just picked up a sandwich at the shopping center and took it back to the hotel."

The kitchenette would be handy for those having a longer stay. This is not a place for persons who have mobility issues or cannot take stairs. "I was able to stay for 3 nights during the Festa dei 3 Cheri, which the hotel is named for. Gubbio is a gorgeous medeival town, but during the festival it comes alive like almost nowhere else in Europe. It is one of the most unique, energizing, ancient celebrations. It unites the community, pays respect to elders, promotes teamwork, and honors a rich independent Umbrian past. The hotel is clean and comfortable great staff, family run. I hope to come back again if Saint Georgio wishes it so. "
