"Easy on street parking. Bit of a confusion with getting into the property as no message was received from Hotels.com with the codes but that was easily rectified by the host. Lovely clean room and well appointed too"

Cromwell's Tap House
10/10 Excellent
"A four poster bed! Great location and value! We overlooked the pub garden, but it was fine. I left my credit card (idiot!) and they called and posted it back to me. The call came as I was about to go to my wallet for it a couple of days later. I will be forever grateful for being spared the stress and worry of a day spent sorting out my mess. They don't do breakfast, but Otto Print and Coffee House is a short walk for the best coffee in Shrewsbury and a fine breakfast. The weather was way too hot, but we can hardly blame them for that."

The Lion Hotel Shrewsbury
8/10 Good
"The hotel is a very old building so you have to expect creaky and uneven floorboards, etc. It certainly adds to the characteristics of the hotel. There are also various different staircases, easy to get lost! Lol. Our room was on 3rd floor, family room. Was very clean (even on top of mirrors - i did the dust test! Lol). Some toiletries provided together with towels. Plenty of tea/coffee provided and a kettle. Iron in drawers and fan was hidden away in cupboard. The fan didn't function too good (it was much needed due to heatwave) but after cleaning the blades, functioned great! NO Iron in room but did see an iron and iron board on the landing whilst getting lost in the hotel. Beds were clean and comfy but as the old style metal frames, did squeak quite a bit! The 1st car park you come to is extremely tight to drive into and park, mainly cos others do not park correctly! There is an overflow car park with plenty more easy parking. However, I expected the parking to be free to hotel guests but had to pay £5 per night. Still cheaper than a public car park. Great location, No breakfast available but great cafe over the road called Cafe on the Cop, highly recommended. We would definitely return to this hotel"

Darwin's Townhouse
10/10 Excellent
"The staff were fabulous, both leading up to our stay when they helped me with some surprises for my friend, and during our stay when nothing was too much trouble! I was able to order an extra package of fizz and flowers, which were placed in one of our rooms upon arrival, together with the banner that I sent ahead. THANKS"

Lion and Pheasant Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Really excellent hotel, the room was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was delicious, best Shakshuka ever, whilst listening to The Stone Roses, bliss. The staff are super helpful and very friendly. The bar area is lovely and serve delicious drinks. Brilliant hotel, will return."
