Best hotel I’ve ever stayed in by far , they couldn’t co enough for us and the rooms and place are absoluxley (see what I did there) amazing . We got engaged and they helped . Will deffo be returning

I used to stay at this Hotel on a regular (often fortnightly) basis a few years ago as it offered well above average accommodation. I liked its location, which gave a balanced mix of easy access with rural unspoilt views, which is a rare treat for anybody who spends weeks driving up and down the Motorway networks. But what I especially liked was the staff, as they are the entire backbone of this hotel and a credit to its Management, I can't say that i've ever had one negative experience, either...

Had an incredible stay here. The house and surrounding area are stunningly beautiful, and the rooms are very cosy. Loved the amenities provided and the staff were wonderful, down to earth and happy to help with whatever you needed. We booked a room with a conservatory and had an amazing time watching the bats fly in and out of the tree next door. Breakfast was wonderful, as was the dinner service. I can see why you have so many regular guests!

The Phesant Inn was a wonderful place to stay. The breakfast was superb with an excellent choice. The staff were polite and attentive. Room 11 offered us a king bed with an excellent view.

Recently refurbished old coaching inn. We stayed two nights and the location, rooms and food are excellent. It would make an ideal place to explore the Dales, like us, or the Lake District. Staff are very friendly and helpful, quality place to stay, though not cheap. Not a chain hotel, so personal service seems paramount here. Just a bit of info about the car park though. Was a fantastic stay with friendly staff who looked after us. Absolutely one of the best stays on an hotel. Food also was excellent. Both me and my wife would recommend the Gateway.

I rarely write reviews about holiday stays but had to do so for our three night stay at Grange Manor. The room was fabulous-luxurious,spotless and so comfortable and the extra finishing touches made it a home from home. Breakfast served every morning in the room was a delight. No noisy dining room nor rush to have table cleared away. All was at our pace which was what we wanted. Hard to access carpark on site. Very cramped entrance on a major slope and limited parking space. We were met on arrival after ringing doorbell by woman who wasn't very friendly. She asked us how we managed to get into reception as we apparently shouldn't have been able as door should have been locked or closed. Amazing experience. Fantastic staff and customer service, very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. Cream tea was freshly prepared and scones still warm. Room was amazing with a beautiful lake view. Homemade shortbread in the room was a lovely touch. Breakfast was also amazing, lovely fry-up with good quality ingredients. Brilliant experience all round, we will definitely be staying again.

It's a nice pub that is part of the Thwaites chain. Menu doesn't cater well for Vegetarians and not at all for Vegans. Disappointing to see them burning coal on the fire in July, really thoughtless. Room was lovely though
