Uncover the wild heart of Scotland by travelling to its famed highlands where the adventurous can scale mountains, ford rivers and hike hidden trails. If you’re looking for a taste of the Great Outdoors, the Scottish Highlands are the place for you.

Strike a path to Fort William where you can test your mettle against some of the biggest mountains in Scotland. Climb Scotland’s most famous Munro—Ben Nevis in Fort William, or explore the trails in the Cairngorms National Park in Aviemore. For those keen on trying the water sports the Highlands have to offer, then head to Loch Lomond where you can try canoeing, windsurfing, water skiing or fishing.

Stay in Adventure Sport Hotels

There are lots of adventure sport hotels that cater specifically for outdoor enthusiasts wanting a place to lay their head after a long day of traversing the highland landscape. Sooth tired muscles in a sauna, or get a much needed massage at the hotel spa, before you lay your head down to rest.

Find the right hotel for you by browsing and booking hotels using Expedia ’s search tool, so the only thing you have to worry about is how to fit in all the things you want to do in this fantastic part of the country.
