"Calheta Beach Resort is a simple yet lovely beach property. Some reviews say ‘dated’, but I think that’s the charm of the place. Food was good, not great, but service was fantastic all across the board. Easy to get to and easy to take day trips to Porto Moniz and Funchal. I would recommend Calheta Beach. "

"Savoy Place is beautiful! The rooms, the grounds, restaurants, location…everything about this hotel is perfect! But the most amazing thing about this hotel is the STAFF!!! They are golden! They made our stay amazing. If you are debating about this hotel, go for it, you will be happy you did!! We will definitely go back again and in the meantime I dream about Madeira and Savory every day!!! "Great dining options very good for gluten free. fabulous service and very, very clean. Great pool and poolside bar cafe. Entertainment was good rooms comfortable with good pillow options. Plenty of English language TV. Only down side was no steam room which was something we missed. "

"We had a fantastic stay! The staff were super friendly, attentive and helpful throughout our stay. The room was spacious and spotless, with views over the sea - beautiful! The hotel is located near lots of great restaurants and has a bus stop nearby to easily get around Funchal. The car park is fairly small but we had no issues finding a space for three nights. We'd definitely recommend the hotel."
