"Overall a very poor hotel"

"Was very apprehensive about staying in Lapa but after arriving I felt so much better. The hotel is in a perfect spot which made it easy to see Santa Teresa, the Lapa arches and sample local nightlife in Lapa. The staff were all so helpful and made our stay perfect. Would definitely stay again if I come back to Rio."

"This is not a five star property. The rooms are tired, old, the showers didn’t work properly. The room smelt strongly of cleaning fluid. There was no complementary coffee or water in the room, everything was charged for. The staff have little English capabilities. They could not understand basic requests for service and delivered the wrong order. Sometimes requests were ignored completely. Front desk was very slow. There is no electricity at the desk in the room."

"The property was clean, well-maintained, and very convenient to the airport. The front desk staff and the shuttle van driver were both friendly, professional, and helpful throughout my stay. The breakfast buffet was very good. One suggestion would be to provide additional training for the breakfast attendant. During breakfast, I noticed that tables were not being cleared and cleaned frequently enough, and some guests had to use tables with used dishes still on them. It would also be helpful to label the food and beverage items, such as the different milk options. My room was comfortable, clean, and nicely appointed. The only other suggestion I have is regarding the towels. The hotel itself was very nice, but the towels seemed a bit worn and could be replaced. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here again. Thank you for the hospitality."

"Power kept going out in late afternoon and during the night. I have sleep apnea and to be honest , didn’t sleep last 2 nights because of power issues. I guess they had no backup generators. Our bathroom sink also backed up and wouldn’t drain. I called them 2 times to fix it but they never resolved the problem. To be honest, I wouldn’t stay there again"
