Our experience was average at the hotel and could have been much better if what happened at the end didn't occur. A few hours before we were about to check-out the water system was turned off. We had no access to water due to a technical issues and the whole hotel was affected. This meat we couldn't have a shower or use the toilets or even wash our hands. What made it worse is that we were international travelers which had a very long flight ahead of us. (23 hours) So we had to leave all smelly and worn-out to Barcelona airport and from there to a connecting flight to Turkey and Abu Dhabi and finally the destination to Sydney Australia. We were extremely angry about this. The hotel should have notified us before hand.
This is a very new hotel so clean and modern. 10 min walk to beachfront and close to shops and restaurants. Couple of miles to the city centre but metro stop is only 2 blocks away. The rooms are very clean but very small. No tea/coffee or hair dryer, these have to be borrowed from reception with a cash deposit. Very good value for money. £155 for 3 nights.

Stayed at the hotel diagnoal mar hotel for a four day trip to Barcelona. The hotel was in a good location, a little out of the city but easy access via the metro, only a fifteen minute ride away. Staff were extremely helpful, especially the bar staff who gave us advice on what to see, and where to go, also some good restaurant recommendations. I would like to especially mention Laura the domestic coordinator who was extemmely professional when there were a few issue with the room which she quickly resolved. She also very kindly left us some guides to Barcelona and even marked out the places to go! So a big thank u to her! Overall
I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Barcelona.
Occupying the area north of the Old Town, Sant Marti is the modern face of Barcelona. It includes the massive new International Convention Centre and the stunning Vila Olímpica with its Port Olímpic marina, built for the 1992 Olympics. At weekends its beach, restaurant, bars and clubs are hugely popular. Nearby, Parc de la Ciutadella is the city’s favourite green space, home to a zoo, boating lake, greenhouse and three museums.
