"The room was clean but pretty bare for a condo u it. The bed we had has pretty hard. The couch was stiff as a board. The bathroom only had one sink and the only mirror in the whole place. The Staff were great. Beach view was great. Only ate breakfast once at the restaurant and it was not that good and very expensive. Should have know it was not as good as we were the only ones in there."

"Fantastic! Location is wonderful. Proximity to beach,restaurants and stores is perfect. Bicycling trails are nearby and are beautiful. All in all it is by far one of the better places we have stayed. Also a great pool. Oh and not to forget it has all the toys one needs at the beach. "A solid family gathering house. Close to beach. Great game room for small and big kids (and younger adults!) Close to Captiva restaurants and room for many to enjoy the property. The house may not be furnished and decorated like some homes that are listed for two or three times the price but it was clean and had everything we needed for the weekend. There is no shortage of cabinet space to accommodate what is brought in. For the money- it was a great place to bring my family together for a weekend at the beach. We would return again if we were heading back to Captiva and the beaches for sure."

Swap the towns of the mainland for scenic coastal areas where you can spend days on shell-scattered beaches such as Tarpon Beach and Lighthouse Beach. Enjoy water sports on the tranquil waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Hire kayaks and paddle around the coast or try out stand-up paddleboarding. You can also go kiteboarding or parasailing from the beaches of Sanibel and Captiva. For something a little more sedate, join a quiet cruise at sunset to experience the Gulf at its most serene.
Natural Attractions on Captiva and Sanibal
The islands of Sanibel and Captiva are home to several wildlife preserves. J. N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Preserve is a biodiverse swath of swampland that is frequently visited by rare migratory birds. This vast mangrove ecosystem is home to more than 245 species of bird, as well as the tropical plants that grow throughout the reserve. Keep your eyes peeled for the region’s reptiles in the park – you might spot alligators, tortoises and salt marsh snakes lurking in the undergrowth.
Buck Key Preserve features a kayaking trail for intrepid adventurers. Paddle through the mangrove tunnels and look for dolphins feeding in the shadows. Pine Island Sound Aquatic Preserve, at the entrance to Sanibel Island, is another exhilarating place for kayaking excursions. You could be joined in the waters by manatees, otters, herons and more.
