"This hotel room is just enough to enjoy a few days in the sun! The room is big enough with extra seating, a micro and fridge as well as a well thought out, NEW bathroom. The grounds are simply beautiful. The palm lined pool with views of the beach are just some of the prettiest views around. We love Sanibel and choose this location when staying for less than a week. It's great to have a restaurant, breakfast place and pool bar on site! We were very happy here."
Casa Ybel Resort
"We had a wonderful stay at Casa Ybel for our wedding anniversary. We had a one-bed king suite and it was large and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The screened lanai was spacious with a ceiling fan, tables/chairs and hooks for towels and shell bags. We spent a lot of time out there looking at the ocean view. Splurge and rent the beach chairs and umbrella, it is worth it. A few nit-picky things were wrong with the room - there was a loose piece of floor trim and the finish on the corner of the tub was wearing off. Nothing that impacted our stay. Housekeeping did an amazing job and were super friendly. The front desk staff were very helpful, especially when our flight was canceled and we had to add another night to our trip. We did not use the pool area but visited to get towels for the beach and it looked inviting and well kept. Tip: there is no signage for where you check-in. It is the first blue/grey building as you enter the grounds. We will definitely be back!"

"Fantastic! Location is wonderful. Proximity to beach,restaurants and stores is perfect. Bicycling trails are nearby and are beautiful. All in all it is by far one of the better places we have stayed. Also a great pool. Oh and not to forget it has all the toys one needs at the beach. You can also go kiteboarding or parasailing from the beaches of Sanibel and Captiva. For something a little more sedate, join a quiet cruise at sunset to experience the Gulf at its most serene.
Natural Attractions on Captiva and Sanibal
The islands of Sanibel and Captiva are home to several wildlife preserves. J. N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Preserve is a biodiverse swath of swampland that is frequently visited by rare migratory birds. This vast mangrove ecosystem is home to more than 245 species of bird, as well as the tropical plants that grow throughout the reserve. Keep your eyes peeled for the region’s reptiles in the park – you might spot alligators, tortoises and salt marsh snakes lurking in the undergrowth.
Buck Key Preserve features a kayaking trail for intrepid adventurers. Paddle through the mangrove tunnels and look for dolphins feeding in the shadows. Pine Island Sound Aquatic Preserve, at the entrance to Sanibel Island, is another exhilarating place for kayaking excursions. You could be joined in the waters by manatees, otters, herons and more.
