"A good location with good views over Barry.
The staff were welcoming and helpful.
The property was "tired" and with a good budget, has the potential to be a lovely venue.
A good value for money, basic accommodation, if your expectations are not too high."

"The staff were friendly and helpful. The place was very clean. Breakfast was very good. I was disappointed as it was expensive and the little extras were missing, such as shower/bath gel on the wall were too high for use in the bath."

"Lovely place to stay, grounds lovely and room clean. Restaurant very busy so would advise to book early if you want an evening meal. Food was excellent."

This was our second stay at the property. We received a warm welcome as usual and checked into our spacious family room. The hotel is clean but a little tired in places. We're happy to see that they are undertaking a refurbishment and look forward to seeing the results next year. The location is outstanding; a short walk from the beach and high street. The pool, hot tub and sauna are a fantastic bonus. Breakfast is lovely and plenty of it. We love our stays here and the character of an older...

My partner and I had a delightful stay here. We were well catered for by our hosts and found the room very pleasant, in good order and quiet. Personally we would choose a firmer bed, but appreciate that’s not to everyones taste or preference.

The hotel is situated in a beautiful, secluded and extremely picturesque location.
Everything is about quality over quantity from the number of rooms to the very well prepared meals, which clearly use the best ingredients.
Limited facilities, but this is part of the charm. The owners and waitress were always on hand to ensure satisfaction and are very friendly.
Not suitable for younger children, which will suit many older people looking for a few days of tranquility away from busy lives.

This is a hotel that we have stayed at during different times of the year. This weekend was very cold but it was lovely and warm in the room. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The evening meal in the restaurant was outstanding with service to match. Breakfast was equally excellent.

If I can suggest to ignore any other negative comments / review regarding this property. Upon booking my stay, reading the other reviews I was alittle aprehensive. I should not have been.
Great car park on the side of the property, which was free. Lovely bar and restaurant and I received a very friendly welcome in. Even some of the locals in the bar gave me a friendly smile and nod.

Fantastic overnight stay. Made to feel very welcome upon arrival by the owner who then took us to a great vantage point to take in the stunning views whilst giving us a brief bit of background history surrounding the building. We took our dog who was welcomed greatly. The staff on site were pleasant and polite and on hand to assist with anything we needed. Breakfast was great. Can't wait to return later on in the year.

Arrived quite late in the evening and had a lovely welcome by the owner. Lovely small pub with plenty of character. Clean and quiet rooms and the property is in a lovely quiet area. Perfect for exploring the outdoors.
Highly recommended!

Beautiful house set in the stunning Exmoor National park is worth the 5 stars alone. However , it is the attentiveness of the owners and attention to detail that really makes Edgcott House very, very special.
Room was beautifully appointed with quality fixtures, made all the more special with aromatherapy products in the bathroom and freshly baked cake left in the room each day.

Excellent attention to detail. The Landlord and his team were extremely friendly, helpful and nothing was too much bother. Free parking was an added bonus.

The best area to stay in Saint Decumans is the historic town centre, particularly around Fore Street and the Quay.
This area is the heart of Saint Decumans, offering a blend of traditional English charm and convenient access to local attractions. Fore Street is the main thoroughfare, lined with independent shops, local eateries, and traditional pubs. The Quay, just a short stroll from Fore Street, provides picturesque views of the harbour and the Bristol Channel, with fishing boats and pleasure craft adding to the scenery. Everything is within easy walking distance, making it very convenient for exploring.
Couples looking for a romantic getaway will find the town centre ideal. They can enjoy leisurely walks along the Quay, dine at waterfront restaurants, and explore the historic architecture, including the impressive Saint Decuman's Church. The evening offers a selection of cosy pubs for a relaxed drink.
Families will also appreciate the town centre's convenience. Proximity to the Quay means easy access to boat trips and crabbing opportunities, which children often enjoy. There are also several parks and green spaces within a short walk, providing areas for children to play.
