Overnight stay on our way back from Cornwall. Nice old pub, much bigger than expected. Popular with locals and bikers. Large outdoor seating area. Very friendly welcome and quick check in. Our room was on the busy road side but excellent soundproofing windows. No problems at all with the twin en-suite. Good choice of food in the restaurant at reasonable prices. Staff very attentive but not too intrusive. The full English breakfast was superb! I would definitely recommend this venue.

Lovely room above a quiet pub. Serves tremendous food. Owner is lovely and will do his best to make your stay a special one. Nice touches like the tray of home made biscuits and fresh milk for the morning tea/coffee. Espresso machine in the room was great. Nice for a short break and not far from the M5 or the cotswolds

Very good value for money. Breakfast was excellent and included in the price.

All good. No promlems at all

Lovely dog friendly pub with rooms. Dog walk from car park into field behind. Very friendly staff and delicious food. Very clean, fresh bed linen. Great stop off. Would definitely recommend and will visit again.

Super large refurbished room. Other rooms are currently being refurbished but this was not intrusive. Plenty of parking and excellent WiFi. Breakfast excellent. Restaurant at hotel but also plenty within walking distance.

I don't normally use superlatives but for this place I am prepared to make an exception. We stayed for two nights and from start to finish it was an excellent experience. The welcome was warm. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The place was spotless - both the room and the common areas. The food was superb, the menu creative and the table service friendly and timely without being intrusive. Portion size was good too. Throughout our stay we were struck by the attention to detail. All the...

Stayed in New Years Eve. Despite being fun off their feet, the staff were polite and service was good. The lady in charge was extremely busy ensuring everything went smoothly. The food was delicious. Very comfy beds. Would recommend.

Lovely hotel welcoming staff great decor comfy beds

Excellent scenic location next to the river. Amazing breakfast choices. Evening meals were always very good and sometimes exceptional. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would hope to return.

The hotel is beautiful, the staff are so helpful and friendly. We always love coming back to this hotel.

The Anchor is a village pub with some rooms at the back. We were in "Lavers" which, I suspect, is the smallest room but perfectly fine for the two of us. The room itself was immaculate, clean with good quality fittings and views over open countryside. We only had a small shower room but again well appointed. Breakfast is do-it-yourself with a toaster and kettle in the room but there was fresh orange, bottled water, butter and milk ( real milk, not UHT) in the fridge, and cereals, bread and a...

Great stay, with excellent food and friendly staff.
