"Lovely, clean well run hotel. Cracking location. Loads of parking but there is a charge but at least it’s next to hotel. Plenty of places to eat and drink locally too"

"Lovely hotel and the room and food was very nice. The staff were also very helpful. There was a prom taking place during our stay so parking and using the facilities was limited during the evening . We could have used the area outside to sit and eat as intended but it was just too busy and noisy for us with the parents and students gathered outside."

"Good hotel stay for Download Festival. Breakfast was nice, though a little cramped for the food stations. Staff could do with some extra training as I had to repeat 3x that I wanted to check out a day earlier, so they could free up the room, as the woman who seemed to be both bar staff and front desk was confused because I wasn't on their system for check in that day. Also weird that despite the booking being under my name, they checked us in using my partner's name which added to the confusion."

"Amazingly refurbished hotel back to the period features tha were in place from the original build period. Very traditional decor in keeping with the building and a breath of fresh air when compared to most modern 'box like' hotel rooms that are just built for functionality these days."

"The dining area was clean. The breakfast was nice. The staff were polite and friendly. Our room had water dripping all day and night from the A/C unit, causing a wet patch on the carpet which wasn’t very nice at all. Other than this the room was very clean. Unfortunately the pool area needed a clean and also a freshen up with decor and DIY. The showers were not clean. I was using this facility for the first time and didn’t realise there was no complimentary shower gel in the cubicles."
