Hotel well located and beachfront . Many options "
It was a pleasant stay as the hotel is well located , facing the beach . It has many options for taking meals . The staff was very friendly. It has an exclusive adult pool for those who do not carry children which I thought was wonderful.
The hotel is in a Golf property that houses two hotels, the "Iberostar playa mita" (another hotel which looks more "common" i.e. more like the all inclusive type, it looked more crowded and not that special at least from the outside) and "La Tranquila".
The Tranquila areas are beautiful and very well kept, staff is very profesional and courteous, room was very spacious and had excellent distribution including a bath tub inside and a small two person pool on the outside terrace overlooking the hotel areas and sea.
What i really liked was that the hotel was not crowded with people, there was almost no one there when you went out to the pools or sea, no music playing or when they did have some it was only in certain areas and very soft so you would hardly notice it.
The pools are so big you can be on one side and not even know who might be swimming on the other end, the beach area is very clean, well kept and you would have it all to yourself, some people walking by from the other hotels in the area but it is great if you like to have the beach to yourself.
The pool restaurant staff was very attending but at the same time they were not all over you trying to force any food or drinks, food was not A+ but not bad at all, i'm a vegan so i didnt eat much, if you're a meat/fish eater the food may be great as the chefs looked like pro's.
Overall great vacation, i would recommend it for adults, i would assume kids would not have as much fun in a quiet, relaxing environment.
The hotel staff was exellent, the bar service was superb. It was a real treat having drinks brought right to the poolside. The food was awesome in the royal suites side of the hotel. We ate at the Mexican restaurant only once and took all of our other meals at the royal side. The vegetarian menu was thoughtfully planned and had a nice variety of apples, mains, etc. Being vegan though, I had a hard time staying satisfied and was forced to resort to eating cheese in some of my meals as no other vegan options were available. Eating just vegetables and fruits made my stomach hurt. It would be nice to have had bean sides, apples, even vegan desert besides fruit to eat. Not a bean to be had. Surprising for a Mexican restaurant. Anyways, there was no end to steak and lobster all around us, thankfully we were not forced to dine with others and bear witness.
Other than the vegan food choices absence, a very pleasant places to stay and relax. A sidenote.: the nightly entertainment is very child orientated and not geared towards adults and there is only entertainment on the children allowed side of the resort. The botanical gardens are very nice.
This is a great place if you are looking to relax, either just as a couple or a family. The resort is very well maintained, the staff are extremely friendly and almost all of them speak English. This is the perfect resort for relaxing, eating great food and drinking lots of blended drinks by the beach. The all-inclusive seems to be the best deal that lets you take advantage of all they have to offer. There are many activities that can be arranged through the most reputable tour company in Puerto Vallarta, and the on-site spa is amazing. There is also a shopping center for souvenirs, beach wear, and even groceries. We will definitely be going back, again and again!
Our butler Omar was fantastic and made the trip, and Daniel (poolside server) was also fantastic. The staff made the hotel better and that says something for a Five Star resort. Great food as well, a perfect mix of local fare with American options for children and travels abroad.
