"Went direct to the hotel from Thirsk, and arrived at 10.30 am. The receptionist was very polite and let us store our cases until we could check in at 3pm. Easy check-in, and had a river facing room on the third floor. Beautiful room, and great bathroom ( the shower was a drencher but there was a shower cap) and lovely view. Blackout curtains and spacious with enough coat hangers for our stay. This is the second time we have stopped and may be tempted to make it a regular yearly hotel as everywhere was exceptionally clean, with a nice smell. Central enough for walking from the train station and close to the town centre."

"Was very grateful to all the receptionists that I spoke to, who gave really helpful service - I wanted to have a room not too far into the forest as I was on my own and also would be on foot but the road for the lodges is for car traffic. The surroundings were really incredible in the hot weather, cool, beautiful evenings, squirrels and birds. Places to sit and enjoy the outside. Food and drink smelt good although I didn't try them. Phone reception was a bit tricky but it would help with relaxation."

"Excellent location, just a short 10 minutes walk into town. Secure car park, although costs £17 per day. Good size room, although found the separate toilet a little strange that took some getting used to. Fabulous continental breakfast that can be ordered when booking your room."

"I had attended a friends wedding on the 4th of July & from checking in to the wedding the hotel did an amazing job & all the staff were just amazing & they went above & beyond to make sure we had a great time. & I certainly did. I had a wonderful day/ night at the hotel de vin and I would absolutely recommend this hotel not just for staying but having a function at. Food & breakfast was delicious. "
