"The room was impeccably clean, spacious, and well-maintained throughout my visit. Furthermore, the entire staff was exceptionally professional, welcoming, and attentive to every request. The breakfast buffet was also outstanding, offering a wide variety of fresh and high-quality options."

"The most beautiful hostel I have ever been. So much magic, art and love. The owner is very friendly and helpful with everything you need. Also it's very clean and has everything what you need, from soap to towels, hairdryer, nail clipper and also in the kitchen you can find the basics like coffee and tea. In my room the bed was also very comfy, what I think is super important. I can totally recommend the hostel and will book it again."

"It is a boutique hotel but the rooms are very clean and with a modern design (we had a loft room) and we loved it. It is close to the center of Tenerife so it was very convenient."

"I was a single traveller. The room i was given was large, with a double bed, and ensuite bathroom. For the price i paid, i found it was good value for money - everything i needed was there. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The room had wifi access and a tv. I let the host know roughly what time i would be arriving, and he was there, waiting to greet me. He was very polite, and explained how the shower worked. Apart from being woken a couple of times, due to some noise ( which...

Had a lovely time at the Mencey. Staff absolutely lovely and so friendly, hotel both grand in its colonnaded porches and cool inner courtyard, and comfortable, with many places to have drinks and food in the shade and chill. Spa very well kitted out (extra €18 a day) breakfast spread faultless. Grilled Seafood served on the pool terrace is particularly good.
Pool is great, using salt water instead of chlorine. Food in both terrace and main restaurant delicious.
Only note of warning, they are...

Based in a fabulous converted old house with an inner courtyard based in the centre of La Laguna within four minutes walk of the cathedral.
We had originally booked Manila suite but, on reading reviews about noise (although apparently it has now been double glazed) and speaking with the property, we decided to upgrade to the Amaro Pargo suite, which was lovely and spacious and at the back of the property, with a large balcony overlooking the inner courtyard and beautiful glazed balcony...

We had a lovely few days staying in the hotel. The breakfast was lovely and the freshly squeezed orange juice a nice addition.
The best tapas bars are near the Tower, the Venetian plus the tapas bar next door. Each place superb.

The room was very clean and perfectly adequate. Paula was fantastic!! I was soaked from the rain, on arrival, and she immediately got me a couple of towels to dry off. She showed me around, and on informing her that I would not be there for breakfast, she prepared me some food to take with me. There was no tv in the room, but all I wanted was to sleep, before the next part of my journey the following day, so I was ok with that. The other guests seemed respectful, as I was not disturbed all...

Well
Maintained hotel with nice rooms and comfy beds. The shower attachment was a bit off, but I’d asked for a bath so I was fine as that was good. Nice pool area and good hotel buffet

We stayed for 14 nights in January & thoroughly enjoyed it. The Hotel was light & spacious & beautifully furnished. The food in the restaurant was of a very high standard & not expensive. An easy walk to the Ramblas or the shopping area as well as to the sea. Would thoroughly recommend.

During the night very quiet, even you are next to the road, where buses and cars driving 24/7.
Reception very friendly and always ready to help, when you need some assistance

We spent 16 nights at this hotel for our holiday. The hotel staff were very attentive and helpful- reception, restaurant staff, room cleaning. We were half board and enjoyed the dining when (on most days) it was the meal of the day- buffet was less impresasive. Limited choice (two of each course) but good ingredients prepared to restaurant standards; well presented with waiter service. We stayed half board but meal was also available for 12 Euros including wine. Good base for enjoying arts- we...

The first thing to take into account that this is utility accommodation which may not suit everyone.
It is on a room only basis, and is not en suite.
However, if that meets your needs, then it is fine.
I used it essentially as a base and it suited me fine.

The best area to stay in Río is the historic centre, particularly around Triana and Vegueta, for an authentic and convenient experience.
The historic centre is Río's oldest and most picturesque part, characterised by narrow, cobbled streets and colourful Canarian architecture. Vegueta is home to the Cathedral of Santa Ana and the Casa de Colón, while Triana offers a pedestrianised shopping street, Calle Mayor de Triana, lined with boutiques, cafes, and restaurants. These areas are very walkable, connecting you directly to the city's heritage and daily life.
Couples will find the historic centre particularly appealing. The evenings offer plenty of options for romantic dinners in intimate restaurants, and the chance to wander through illuminated streets, perhaps catching some live music in a local square. The blend of cultural sights and dining makes it a great base for exploring together.
For travellers looking for a relaxed beach holiday with easy access to city amenities, the area around Las Canteras Beach is an excellent choice. This neighbourhood boasts a long, golden sandy beach protected by a natural reef, making it ideal for swimming and sunbathing. The promenade, Paseo de Las Canteras, is bustling with seafood restaurants and cafes.
Solo travellers often appreciate Las Canteras for its relaxed atmosphere and the ease of finding activities. You can spend your days by the sea, try various water sports, or simply enjoy a coffee while people-watching along the promenade.
When is the best time to go to Río?
The best time to go to Río is typically during spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasantly warm, and the island is less crowded.
For those seeking warm, sunny weather superb for beach activities and water sports, the summer months of July and August are ideal. The sea temperatures are at their highest, making it excellent for swimming and snorkelling. While it's the peak season, Río's extensive coastline means you can still find quieter spots away from the main tourist hubs.
If you're a couple looking for a peaceful escape with comfortable temperatures for exploring the island's natural beauty, then April, May, September, and October are excellent choices. During these months, you'll find fewer visitors at popular attractions like the Timanfaya National Park and can enjoy the island's volcanic landscapes and vineyards at a more relaxed pace.
