"Great location and only half hour drive from home . Clean room and very quiet . Easy access to pubs only downside i have was once we checked in they asked for extra £100 as deposit as well as price for the room luckily i had my card on me as this wasn't stated when i booked ."

"My wife and I stayed in a suite on the second floor with a stand alone bathtub. The bath was a great feature but for the opulence of the room you'd expect a bigger sink (One of the tiny rectangular ones) not really in keeping with the standard and price. The bed was extremely big and comfortable, one of the best hotel beds we've stayed in. Location was extremely central but outside noise could be an issue for some (they do provide earplugs) The wifi was poor but that was a minor complaint. Overall it's an interesting place to stay for a night but it's overpriced for what it is."

"Great location quick stroll to York centre. Room was quite small but everything to hand. The record player in the room was a nice touch and the staff were wonderful. Good selection from the breakfast menu also. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!"

"Really close to everything, we stayed on a Sunday night on the ground floor and there was no noise. Underfloor heating was a great surprise! only thing that we’d change is the “dress” in the room looked very old - perhaps if the costumes were newer we would have tried them on. However it did fit the theme! Lovely room for a short unique stay."
