"The check in was not we booked. We booked a double bed and single bed for our grandson to stay. However it was not like that. We had a beautiful 4 poster bed and sofa bed that was not made up. The housekeeper staff had left and the receptionist was reluctant to make the bed up My son said we’d take the duvet from their room so my grandson am l slept without a sheet on the sofa bed. The following day l thought that maybe they would makeup the bed. But no it was left as it was. The male staff...

Hut in The Sheep Wash - Cosy Shepherd's Hut with log burner - Pet-friendly.

9.8 out of 10, Exceptional, (6)
"Fantastic location in a very picturesque setting with a lovely little river flowing across the bottom of the field. The Shepherds hut was spotless with home made cakes an eggs supplied by the owner. The only thing that spoiled it for us was the chemical toilet smell that seemed to linger around the hut and we had to burn a lavender candle (provided ) to take it away. Not sure if it is normal for it to smell strongly but looking at previous reviews , probably not. "

"Fantastic little cottage....very quirky just like the description. Really enjoyed our stay. It's in a great location for the Western lakes and we enjoyed some great walks. The dogs loved swimming in Wastwater. Fantastic communication from the hosts and cottage is very well equipped. Shame the local pub wasn't doing food (waiting for a new chef to start) but enjoyed sitting out in the sunshine with a nice beer! Will definitely be staying again."
