"The property was filthy. We reported the issues whilst we were there, and were advised to put it onto a feedback form when we left. We did this and have had no acknowledgement whatsoever. "Property was spotless, beds comfortable, Wi-Fi very good, kitchen well equipped, though none of the odds and end like salt and pepper often found in a self catering place so take absolutely everything you need with you. Perfect wee village- pub excellent with a limited choice of pretty good pub grub and less than a 100yard stagger away! Lovely walks on the doorstep and beautiful scenery, and sheep."

"We are a family of 5 and we stayed at the Bothy for 4 nights during half term. It is an ideal location for day trips in and around Edinburgh and it is very close to the local village of Penicuik which was handy for supermarkets, takeaways etc. The Bothy is very spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. "Looks exactly like in the pictures don't expect modern furniture. old-school tv with satellite channels and working internet. I like the access road to the lodge covered in leaves - magic. I have stayed for 7 days, overall cleanliness was ok ( don't look under the beds). Warm rooms as long as you switch heating. beautiful views, quiet place. Bring your own water to drink, I wouldn't drink tap water. Enjoy your stay."

"We loved everything about our stay at Townhead from the glorious views to the cozy and thoughtfully planned house. Communication with the manager and the housekeeping staff before and during the stay was prompt and kind. The welcome drinks and food meant we didn’t have to run into Peebles when we first arrived. We unpacked and would have happily stayed much (much!) longer than a week. It’s a wonderful area to walk and explore but really, you’ll want to stay home and read or write or draw....

"We were a group aged nine to eighty. There was a lot on offer to cater for us all. There were nine of us and the place was big enough for us to spread out and enjoy varying activities. A bus stop outside going into Edinburgh was a bonus. Would highly recommend it. Does Scotland proud!"
