Excellent Hotel

Posted 20-Sep-2016
The best vacation I have ever had. All of the employees gave superb service. Special shout out to all of the employees at The Market Restaurant, especially Juan and Marie Flor. If you get the chance, plan on visiting Monkey Island because it was awesome. Special shout out to PJ, our tour guide.

In depth, but only pessimistic things I could find

Wonderful except: hot tub takes to long to fill. Shower water temp controls temperamental, sub standard shower head pressure. No fan in toilet room, a/c kept the room nice & cool but not cold - Bldg 7A

Beautiful hotel, truly paradise

Posted 10-Sep-2016
Pros: Entertainment, staff friendliness, food, everything :)
We just got back from our 7 day first time in Punta Cana and we couldn't have picked a better hotel. Hotel Hard Rock and Casino is beautiful, the room is the most spacious we've ever had in our travel, and we travel a lot. The service provided was top notch! We celebrated our 7 yr. anniversary and when one of the managers, Gerardo found out, he treated us the a complimentary romantic dinner that was amazing, they even decorated our room, it's details like this that make the Hard Rock Hotel a place that we will come back to again. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!!!

Great Beach at Hard Rock Punta Cana

Posted 09-Sep-2016
Pros: Magnificent Beach, & world class staff service at restaurants. Casino is good -- feels like Las Vegas.
Cons: Food quality and selection, service of staff at check-in and other areas. Less focus on upselling, vacation club etc.
Location: great location - there is plenty to do and see nearby in downtown Punta Cana, but hotel offers lots of activities, so no need to really go elsewhere.
The beach at this hotel is the best beach I've seen in the Dominican Republic. This hotel also has the best spa ever - so do yourself a favor and take advantage of one of their services. Staff at the restaurants were all friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond with respect to service to meet requests made by us. Facility in overall good condition, but starting to show it's age a little since our last visit a few years ago. Feel like there is now too much emphasis on selling their vacation club and upgrade packages...hotel is already a premium all-inclusive...it really should not be necessary to pay more to get more services...bad marketing move in my opinion. Also, received early (prior to 10 a.m.) calls to our room for various reasons every day of our stay -- let vacationing guests sleep in and never call them before noon! Property is huge, but wait for shuttle carts was not usually too long, which is a must to get around. Food quality and selection is average to above average, and is one area the hotel needs to focus improvement efforts on if it is to stay competitive in the market.

Beautiful hotel with lots to do

Posted 08-Sep-2016
Check in Quick and easy. They offer you a welcome drink right from the get go (It was delicious so I went back for more...several times). You're bags get taken to your room which did take a little longer then I had liked. Rooms All the rooms are pretty much the same. All beautiful. We did have an issue with AC not going off in the beginning but it was because the balcony door sensors weren't aligned so don't make the same mistake we did. They have buildings 1-8 both A and B. A is closer to beach. B is closer to casino and lobbies. Trollies Not as bad as I thought but I guess it depends where your room is located and where you are trying to get to. Typically if you start walking in the direction you're going you'll catch a trolley to take you the rest of the way. Food Overall impressed with their food. Most places have buffet style lunch and sit down service for dinner. Majority of places service lunch until 4pm then reopen for dinner at 6pm. Must try's- Room service was actually really good. Los Gallos restaurant- queso fundido!!!!!!! Ipanema- like a Texas de Brazil. Sirloin was the best. Zen- the hibachi was fun. Recommend doing it early on especially if you want to meet some new people. Toro- had the best desserts. We ordered 3 different ones and ate them all! Spa You definitely should try at least once. If you arrive 1 hour before your service they have a process they take you which includes steam room, waterfall shower head, sauna, ice room (I declined)

Good but not great

Posted 04-Sep-2016
Pros: Facilities
Cons: FOOD- very poor quality- we ordered a filet mignon at Toro and was given maybe ribeye folded in two and held by a toothpick, buffet food was dry
Location: Beach was beautiful
We were there for 5 days last week. We had been to many all inclusive resorts but was our first to Punta Cana. We did a lot of research trying to find a fantastic fun resort to meet the needs of our group- someone suggested Hard rock and we all decided let's go with it though some reviews were great and others were mixed. Our experience was also mixed- some good, some bad: Pros- Facility- Huge hotel with several pools, beautiful well manicured grounds, gorgeous lobby with fun shops- some pricey, some more affordable, bathrooms around common areas were always very clean. Rooms were very spacious clean, whirlpools in room, bathrooms were large with double showers. Pools- clean, lots of towels, food and drinks near each pool, different pools to meet varied needs Fitness- clean, adequate machines for cardio and weights, good classes for yoga/ body fit Spa- the diamond of this facility-opulent, great prices with resort credit so you only pay 20% service charge for most treatments, hydrotherapy Restaurants- many restaurants and we were there off peak so didn't need to make reservations- food was not good Cons: Aggressive sales people for "membership"- STAY AWAY FROM WELCOME PACKAGE unless you want to buy their " membership"- Food- we ate at many of the restaurants-this was the biggest disappointment for us- all of us- Alcohol- poor quality brands at most areas and in rooms Service-front desk, most service staff do not speak much english, use google translate
