What to See in Provincetown

From your hotel, make your way to Provincetown’s waterfront and take a slow stroll past the harbourside’s cafes and galleries. Discover the town’s artistic heritage in the Provincetown Art Association & Museum, whose works include some by former Cape Cod resident Edward Hopper.

Climb to the top of the Pilgrim Monument, a granite tower that rewards you with fantastic views of the coast. At the foot of the tower is a museum chronicling major points in Provincetown’s history ¬– notably the landing of the Mayflower.

For more sensational views, head to the Province Lands Visitor Centre at Race Point Beach. The rooftop observation deck offers unbeatable panoramic views, and you can still visit the deck even after the visitor centre is closed – perfect if you want to catch the sunset before heading back to your hotel.

Learn about some of many shipwrecks along Cape Cod’s coast with a visit to the Whydah Pirate Museum.

What to Do in Provincetown

Either unwind at your hotel or one of Provincetown’s beaches, maybe Herring Cove Beach, or really get away from it all with a two-hour hike to Long Point Beach. Or avoid the walk by taking the Long Point Shuttle across the bay in the summer.
