"We had a lovely warm welcome, cases saved so we could go out prior to check in time. Substantial breakfast included. Perfect location for shopping in Gunwarf Quays and going up the Spinnaker Tower. Intend to revisit next year."

"The Staff were wonderful. The hotel was exceptionally clean. My room had cable, kettle, iron and heater and it was ensuite although compact. The Duke is in the historic centre of Portsmouth close to the university and all major attractions including the historic dockyard. Portsmouth Harbor Station is nearby. The area is quite a posh neighborhood and it's quite safe at night. The bar below serves some good food, too. The hotel is in a bricks and mortar building, so you may hear squeaky floor boards from time to time. Also there is late check in when the reception closes and you can pick up you key from a keybox."
