La Monastica Resort & Spa

10/10 Excellent

"From before even arriving to the resort, I had nothing but amazing experiences. The resort reached out to me to find out how I was coming in and arranged a complimentary transport from the train station to the resort, and repeatedly did so throughout my trip. During the whole trip the staff was incredibly attentive and supportive and made us feel comfortable, supported, and safe, especially for my wife and I who were visiting from Florida. Amenities were amazing, food was stellar, room was gorgeous and clean, and they even reached out to me to give us breakfast to go packs for my wife and I because we had to take an early train to our next destination. I could not recommend this resort enough, as it was the best place to be for our first trip to Italy on my wife and I’s honey moon. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Thank you La Monsastica!"

Versilia Lido | UNA Esperienze

10/10 Excellent

"Lovely stay at Versilia Lido UNA Esperienze for 5 nights! The property is spacious and has a relaxed resort atmosphere. We were kindly upgraded to a large one bedroom apartment with a dining area balcony, which gave us plenty of space and we cooked in the apartment almost 5 nights stayed. One feature we really appreciated was the in room washing machine with a built-in dryer. When you are travelling for a longer period, having laundry facilities inside the apartment is incredibly convenient and makes a big difference. The staff were one of the strongest points of the hotel. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful, and Federica at the front desk deserves a special mention. She was warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming, and made us feel very well looked after from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was also very good, with fresh juices, a generous selection and plenty of healthier options. It felt fresh, well organized and more varied than many hotel breakfasts we experienced during our trip. The location is particularly convenient if you are travelling by car. Free parking is available within the resort, and there is a large supermarket only about four minutes away by car. Since our apartment included a kitchen, we appreciated being able to buy fresh ingredients and prepare some meals ourselves. Overall, the hotel feels bright, sunny and easygoing, with a friendly atmosphere that makes it enjoyable to return to at the end of the day."

8/10 Good

"staff at reception not too informative. At the time of my stay the pool access was restricted to entry via shower. So in theory it was not possible to leave your belongings on the pool side unless getting wet. Crafty guests would remove the restricting barrier and enter the pool side. Same goes for apparently compulsory swimming cap that needs to be purchased at the reception for 4 Euro. As pool is unattended and unchecked anybody can get in without the cap."

Grand Hotel Bonanno

8/10 Good

"Great hotel, easy to walk to Pisa centre. Staff were either v helpful at check in ( a young lady, sorry I did not get her name) , or to lazy to help us later when room key to our room would not work , the gentleman on reception had my 69year old husband going up and down 3 times to get it fixed, blamimg us!! Eventually he reluctantly came upstairs on my husbands insistance + agreed the fault was on their side, no apology given at all! V poor service. As we were leaving early a takeaway breakfast was supplied , which was great."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Pontetetto?

The best time to visit Pontetetto is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

These periods offer pleasant weather, with warm days and cooler evenings, ideal for exploring the Tuscan countryside without the intense heat of mid-summer. You'll find the landscape at its most picturesque, with blooming wildflowers in spring and the grape harvest (vendemmia) in autumn. The main tourist attractions are also less crowded compared to the peak summer season, allowing for a more relaxed experience.

Couples looking for a romantic escape will appreciate the tranquil beauty of Pontetetto in spring or autumn. Imagine leisurely walks through vineyards, enjoying al fresco dining, and exploring charming local villages without the hustle and bustle. The mild weather is great for day trips to nearby Lucca or Pisa.

For those planning to enjoy outdoor activities like cycling or hiking, spring and autumn provide the optimal conditions. The temperatures are comfortable enough for extended periods outdoors, and the natural scenery is at its most appealing.
