Find hotels in Poltringen from £39

The best area to stay in Poltringen is within the village centre itself, as it offers the most convenient access to local amenities and a pleasant, traditional German village experience.

Poltringen is a small, quiet village, so the 'centre' isn't a bustling metropolis, but rather the area around the main street, Poltringer Hauptstraße. Here, you'll find the local bakery, a few traditional guesthouses, and the village church. The surrounding streets are residential, featuring typical Swabian architecture with half-timbered houses.

For couples looking for a peaceful retreat, staying centrally in Poltringen provides a wonderful opportunity to experience authentic village life. You can enjoy strolls through the countryside directly from your accommodation, dine at a traditional Gasthof, and appreciate the calm pace. It's also a great base for exploring the wider Schönbuch nature park.

Business travellers who appreciate a tranquil setting after a day of meetings will find Poltringen's central area ideal. While it's a quiet location, its proximity to larger towns like Herrenberg and Tübingen means you're well-connected for work, but can return to a relaxing environment.

The best time to visit Poltringen is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

During spring, the weather is pleasantly mild, and the countryside around Poltringen is in full bloom, offering beautiful scenery for walks and outdoor activities. The temperatures are comfortable for exploring the local vineyards and the historic parts of Poltringen without the heat of summer.

Autumn also provides agreeable weather with cooler temperatures and the added beauty of changing leaf colours. This season is particularly good for those interested in local wine, as it coincides with the grape harvest in the Baden region. Many local festivals celebrating wine and food take place, offering a chance to experience regional traditions.

While summer (July and August) can be warm, it's also a good time for outdoor pursuits and enjoying the longer daylight hours.
