"Lovely stay at the hotel. Staff all really friendly and helpful. Sat outside in the good weather and the food from the bar was excellent. Good quality sandwiches with huge fillings. Room was ok though a little tired in places but the air con worked really well."

"I always like to start with the positive and that was the staff being very helpful and the bed being very comfortable. Sadly the room was in a sad condition. Needs some tlc. Torn wallpaper, hole in wall, hole in door, dusty lights, no mattress protector, duvet torn, duvet cover non closing so duvet came out, dirty tea spoon, stained carpet and absolutely no basics like a glass for water, hairdryer, shower gel or tissues. The chairs were small and uncomfortable if you wanted to watch TV. In general it's not a fair price for a decent room as the standard is so low."

"We stayed one night on our way to Cornwall, it was really nice place to break the journey. We had our dog with us and he was made very welcome with his own bag of treats while we enjoyed the classic Doubletree cookie! We arrived in time to eat at the bistro in the evening and the food was good. The bed was comfortable enough and the shower was decent. Breakfast quality was really good and they were still bringing out fresh cooked food close to 11am. The only negative was the coffee from the machine - so bitter it was undrinkable. We would definitely stay again."

"We checked in at around 5pm after travelling 400 miles from Glasgow hoping to relax and get ready for a pre wedding function to attend at 6pm. To our utmost disappointment we discovered that our room was not ready. It was in a mess left by the previous guests. When we complained at the reception then duty manger came up and apogised and offered us free drinks until the room was made ready, which we refused. We were short of time and had to use the room as it was to get ready and used our own towels to freshen up and left for the party. The room was done up nicely when we returned from the party. Staff were helpful and friendly. On checkout we complained about our experience and requested a refund for the first night of our stay for the inconvnience. Duty manager did apologise and couldn't offer refund. We were promised that the hospitality manager will contact us. Adding to our disappointment, we haven't heard anything from them until today."

"With additional charges I should have booked my first choice, I saw this hotel on offer and took it. I paid extra for a dog but didn't get the doggy bag mentioned on site. Staff were very dog friendly hotel isn't really. Nowhere to walk the dog really just a carpark and small courtyard. The court yard isn't really a suitable place to go to the toilet and the carpark was very hot in 30°+ also I had to get someone to get me breakfast as dogs aren't allowed in the area, so I couldn't see what was available. The hotel is completely no smoking, not even in outside seating, which might be a plus for some guest. It said it had a designated smoking place, but that was basically stand in the carpark. Again in heat not being able to sit was uncomfortable, also lots of cigarettes ends as no ashtrays. Room was about what you'd expect for the price, tv was rubbish you can only watch TV no streaming or casting from your phone. Cheap and basic but great staff"
