We found it to be a sub standard Travelodge.
The room we had mould spots around the bath.
The window was single glaze and did not shut properly due to outside creepers growing in. The corridor leading to the room also had plants growing in through the windows preventing them from being closed.
Again mould around the window.
Also no heating was on - which consisted of piped radiator but this was not an issue due to the September heat wave this year.
And the other gripe was the carpet in the room definitely needed replacing as covered in stains.
And finally the shower was a bath with shower sheet type but the bath floor is slippery. There was a rubber mat to put in the bath rolled up by the sink.....nice.
The room was located well away from the roads and was very quiet.
Breakfast was ok and the hotel had off road parking and is located in the centre of Oundle.
Staff were very friendly.
We did not mention the issues listed above during our stay as the faults are so visual that it's a lack of common sense hotel maintenance issue and not a bad staffing problem - you should only need to complain about bedding / staff attitude / food on a stay and not the fixed parts of a room as this just indicates skimping on maintenance.
