"Well, when you pay a price beginning with a 4, you expect value for money! This was a poor standard hotel, I hear the hotel inspector graded it 2/5, I think he was generous! Concierge were great, check in easy, door to the room, handle cane off in my hand! Single glazing windows in the room, thought the birds were in my room upon entry, radiators screaming air in them, awful snowy tv picture and insulted with the old "it's the weather" excuse when reported, wonder what they say in summer! Shower...

"Reception staff very helpful, rooms are spacious comfortable beds and always a comfortable chair to use. Rooms and bathrooms always clean. Friendly staff in the bar and breakfast is always good. This is the third year in a row I’ve stayed there."

"Fitness suite was a tiny airles room. No testeraunt. Breakfast was sub par. No fresh fruit only tinned. Vegetarian sausages were so hard couldn’t cut into them.. inedible. I have a video of them knocking on a plate like a piece of wood! Wouldn’t stay here again Expected more from a Hilton "

"Automated self check-in was great with a little help from the girls at reception. Stayed in a Club Room which comes with free parking, gym access and was very clean and tidy but no bigger than a normal room in any other hotel. Very busy hotel as it has a fitness gym on site for locals to use. Food and beer a little pricey but was a modern and comfortable place to eat. Breakfast was excellent. Would stay again"

"The Hotel is set within the sprawling grounds which includes a wonderfully maintained golf course despite the current heatwave conditions. I was warmly greeted when checking in and got a lot of steps in getting to my room but was rewarded with a room with a view of the course and everything I needed to enjoy my stay. I used the onsite gym which had new equipment in great working condition which provided a good sweat and pump. I decided to dine elsewhere with Reading being only a few miles away. The bed was extremely comfortable and provided a well-needed night's rest with breakfast options being varied allowing for a great start to the day. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was impeccable."

"BEAUTIFUL grounds and main hotel areas, super helpful and welcoming staff. The room itself had basic amenities, and smelt like it was an ex- smokers room. May just be that the soft furnishings needed replacing. The room was dated and needed an upgrade. It would have been good to have a safe in the room too. Everything else about the hotel was wonderful and it was a shame it was only a fleeting visit. Slightly overpriced considering the room itself."

"The hotel and all other considerations a great, what does let the hotel down is the poor breakfast, having stayed a number of times I have consistently found this wanting. I come up for work from Devon once a month and aesthetic and atmosphere are everything to me whilst I am away from home on Business. A good start to my day is also a requirement and this prerequisite is a good edible breakfast. I'm not going to get into the detail, everyone knows what a good breakfast looks like, it doesn't take much imagination, I am no food critic, but they are missing a trick here. I did eat the pervious evening in the hotel restaurant and found this to be satisfactory, my steak and frites was very nice. Yes a disappointing start to my working day. "
