The room was fabulous-luxurious,spotless and so comfortable and the extra finishing touches made it a home from home. Breakfast served every morning in the room was a delight. We stayed in this lovely guest house for two nights as we were attending a family funeral. We arrived at about 3pm on the first day and were greeted by a lovely lady who explained where everything was and showed us to our room. I put in the postcode but car sat nav directed me as far as the local pub only! After turning down a wrong lane past the pub in the pitch dark (9pm on an October evening) ascending up at a dead end I rang the owner who instructed me to carry on past the pub for another 2 miles! I eventually arrived at a building signposted as the ‘equestrian centre’ so I drove a bit further and ended up driving around some lane in a woods (surrounded by curious deer and badgers!). We stayed one night at the Victorian house as we had planned a last minute visit to the lakes due to particularly good weather forecast for this time of year. The staff were very welcoming; the room was as described ‘cosy’ and furnished beautifully. The breakfast was of a high standard with plenty of choice. We would definitely look to stay again, especially as it was such good value for money and right in the centre of the village.
