"While working in Hastings I needed to find accommodation for 1 final night & I found Alexander’s hotel on Carlisle Parade on the website & booked my stay through Hotels.com. Upon arrival I was greeted by the owners Keith, Wendy & Misty the very clever owners dog. After explaining why I chose their hotel apart from the cost etc they immediately upgraded my stay to a double room facing the seafront which was perfect with an ensuite power shower a large comfortable bed which gave me a great night’s sleep. I work in Hastings a few months of the year & would certainly recommend staying at Alexander’s hotel if you want value for money & a convenient base to explore all that it has to offer."

"Stayed for 4 nights midweek in June 2026 during the heat wave. Thought the room was lovely, spacious, top floor sea view, triple room. Could have done with air-conditioning for sure - they might need to consider this if our climate is going to get hotter! The wi-fi didn't work for me; not my phone's fault I believe, as it worked in all other venues I visited. This might be a problem for some but I had my book and the tv to keep me occupied when needed. The bath could do with a grab rail for those of us getting older and a slip mat. The shower over the bath, which ran off the taps, was tricky to get to the desirable temperature every time. Breakfast is buffet style, plenty of choice really, only £7.50 which is a bargain! The hotel could do with a small smoking area and an outside space but I guess the small parking area is more important to them. We found it easy enough to find a space to park within a few yards. Maybe not so in peak season."

"The grounds are stunning with so much potential but it feels very much a work in progress. We used paddle boards on the lake, which was fab but an additional charge on top of a very expensive room. The sauna wasn’t quite up to heat, we stoked the wood burning hot tub for a dip, tried the lake to cool off and the cold plunge was unfortunately empty. The room was nice and clean. I booked the junior suite but ended up getting a suite. It didn’t feel any more special than a deluxe room elsewhere and was the most expensive one night I’ve ever paid for. Don’t expect any alcohol if you pay extra for the mini bar. The TV didn’t work in the room and the shower was over the bath rather than a nice standalone. The toiletries smelt lovely and the aircon didn’t respond to any changes we tried to make so we had to turn it off and had an uncomfortably warm night. We ate at the pub with no complaints but as breakfast wasn’t included in the room we swerved it. The outdoor pool was a lovely addition which is mainly why I chose this hotel over others as the weather was warm. All in all a lovely stay but not very good value for money."
