The room was very big we loved it, very clean and comfy. Easy to relax and only 5 min walk to town where cafes, restaurants and beach. No food served here but short walk of 4 mins over the bridge are many lovely places to eat so was not an issue for us. Did not hear any noise from other residents. ...

I spent four very comfortable nights at Powys Lodge. The accommodation was fantastically comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious and everyone was really friendly. I would recommend Powys Lodge to anyone and I'll be staying there next time I come up to Yorkshire.

Nicely decorated, comfy beds, cosy sofas, everything thought of for our stay, could not think of anything to better it, even lovely flowers greeting us on our arrival, home from home. Excellent
The room was great, the bed was comfortable, but to get to my room (and two others on my floor) there were 4 flights of stairs. It’s fine if you’re there with very little luggage (although staff will offer to help you take it upstairs) but if you struggle with stairs, it would be best to try and ...

North Yorkshire is the holiday destination that's got it all. From the remarkable historical attractions in the walled City of York, to the tranquil greenery of the famous Yorkshire Moors, there's plenty to see and do. The diversity of North Yorkshire as a holiday destination makes it a particular favourite for travelling families, because there's something to keep everyone happy. Completing the package is the impressive array of child-friendly hotels dotted around this stunning county.
Holidays with children can be exciting - magical, even, at times - but they can also be tiring for mum and dad. After a long day's sightseeing or walking in one of the county's many National Parks, you're likely to be looking forward to some time to yourself. That's why the best child friendly hotels in North Yorkshire are the ones which provide facilities for mum and dad, as well as the kids.
Aldwark Manor Golf and Spa Hotel hits the nail on the head when it comes to leisure time. Not only is there an exquisite golf course on the site, there are also a handful of facilities given over entirely to relaxation. The sauna and health club are always favourites.
There are all kinds of fun facilities that family hotels entice the kids with, but few can top the novelty of a swimming pool. Indoor pools provide an excellent means of tiring out the kids at the same time as keeping them entertained, and they can be used all year round, regardless of what the weather's doing outside. As an added benefit, they can help the parents unwind when the little ones have gone to bed.
The Novotel in York city centre houses an excellent indoor pool. There's also free WiFi throughout the hotel, which will come in handy when you're planning tomorrow's excursions. Thanks to the central location, the hotel serves as a fine base from which to explore all of York's fascinating historical attractions. There's even a restaurant in the hotel - great for those nights when the kids can't quite make it out into town.
