"Great hotel away from the strip"
We stayed at Fiesta Rancho from Mar 30-April 5, 2016. I must tell you I was apprehensive after reading the other reviews about the hard beds, no hot water, no heat, etc etc. However, being off the strip (we were not there to gamble) and the AMAZING price won out.
When we walked in to register, I could right away smell the smoke others would speak about. Being a former smoker, it didn't bother me. It didn't bother my husband, who has never smoked, either. The check-in was quick and painless. So nice after a flight and car rental lines.
We went to our room on the second floor. I took a deep breath, opened the door, and WOW! It was so nice! By the reviews I read I was expecting a run down beat up filthy room. No, the room was extremely clean and updated. It even smelled nice! We also had a palm tree outside our window...and could see the mountains in the distance. Yes, very nice.
I will say, yes, I had trouble with the water the first night. I learned, by trial and error, that, just like at home, you have to let it run to get hot, hot water in the shower.
Also, we had trouble with the heater the first night. It seems you have to be smarter than the heater. I called down and they sent up an engineer. Well, he got there right away but we had already figured it out...and it came out HOT on the highest setting.
Someone mentioned a Flintstone bed...hard as a rock...not even close. It was heavenly. Also, there was not one bug in our room. EVER.
