Hampton by Hilton Bath City

Hampton by Hilton Bath City

8/10 Good
"There was plenty of food to choose from. The cooked food was cooked well and of good quality. Only criticisms is that for me there could have been a wider choice of fruit and that finding room to sit at breakfast was quite difficult, despite the efforts of the staff to prepare tables as soon as they were vacated."

Receiving official University status in 1992, the University of the West of England is the largest educational institution in the region and was where Samantha Cameron, the wife of David Cameron, studied a Fine Art degree. The university attracts students from dozens of countries all over the world, and provides more than 600 courses in more than a dozen departments.

An inspiration for Jane Austen, one of Britain's leading novelists, it was built for the rich banker John Scandrett Harford, a Quaker and key campaigner for the abolition of slavery in Britain in the early 19th Century. Just minutes from the estate is the delightful Best Western Henbury Lodge Hotel, which offers sophisticated three star accommodation with free WiFi and iPod docks.
