Very comfortable stay here. Service was excellent, food good. Limited parking on site (5 spaces) but NCP across the road. Bristol is a great city for a short break.

We were so looking forward to a return trip to Bristol and after paying a considerable sum for 3 nights at this hotel, we were quite disappointed and unimpressed. For the price, we have stayed in many hotels across the country which are boutique and outstanding in comparison. The hotel appeared ‘worn’ and ‘dated’ in places and whilst I appreciate it is rustic, it could do with a refurb in the rooms and dining area. In the bedroom hallway, there was always a tray full of glasses some broken and empty alcohol bottles. The carpet was worn away in the bedroom, the tv had barely any signal, the bed was extremely uncomfortable- the headboard was at an angle so you couldn’t sit against it, the bed itself was so soft it felt like you were laying downwards at an angle, the cream bedroom was stained in places and the pillows were far too soft offering no support. Lights were dim and could not be adjusted to bright white, so you could never actually see putting on makeup. Bathroom was however the highlight of the room! We even attended the Bistro which was a let down- lights kept flickering, there was a draft and the food, whilst it was a 25 aged steak, it was quite ‘ropey’ and not the best we have eaten. Upon leaving the hotel, we arrived home to find a charge on our card of £5 for the water which was left on the bedside tables. Overall, after such hype for this hotel and whilst the staff were lovely, it was very disappointing and we will be unlikely to stay here again.
