"This property caters to large tour groups so it is very crowded. The breakfast in the morning was basic, no extras for the oatmeal many days and very limited amount of food. The kitchen staff tried to keep up but the large groups made it almost impossible to manage. Coffee was always an issue in the morning. Their antiquated coffee machines were always broken. The queen room had a nice bed and it was pretty quiet. The best part about it was the convenience to much of Edinburgh, you could walk to the major attractions."

"Pros: The hotel screams out location, it can’t be a better location for stay to absorb Edinburgh. Staff is very helpful too. Cons: Breakfast variety is not great. Path to room, lifts are really confusing ( but I can’t fully blame them as they are trying to modernise a castle which might be tough) Temp works are on at multiple places which is little eyesore. Overall: good value ( I just stopped saying great for now)"

"Excellent hotel in a very good location. Some rooms have amazing views of the castle. We’ve just completed our second stay, have a third booked for January 27 and are planning a summer 27 stay too"
