From the outside this property looks run down but nothing could be further from the truth once you’re inside.
Apparently council tardiness is responsible for the lack of external refurb as the building is listed.
The rooms are spotless and very well provisioned in every sense. The dining room serves excellent food for both breakfast and other meals and at reasonable prices.
Ignore the facade and do yourself a favour!!

The Murrayfield Hotel is the gem of Edinburgh. I had the pleasure of staying 4 nights. It’s a quick bus ride to Edinburgh Castle. In a great old neighbourhood of Edinburgh with excellent local shops, a few restaurants and cafes nearby.

My son and his partner found this to be a very welcoming place and they really enjoyed their stay. My son was wished a Happy Birthday and their room was lovely. They loved the Breakfasts and enjoyed the facilities. I expect they will return in the future.

We have a deluxe room which comes with an ensuite shower room but in fact we made use of the shared bathroom next door which has a huge bath tub with very hot water. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. There is no flat-packed furniture, and everything suits the style of a Victorian townhouse. The bed had mattress comforters that made it very comfortable.
