It requires half-board, and continues to serve its meals indoors, via a buffet. Yes, they include disinfectant at the tables and provide people with plastic hand-coverings, but numerous studies show this is not enough and buffets are some of the most dangerous venues to contract COVID. They denied my request to eat meals in my room. In addition, the hotel does not adequately enforce mask usage -- many guests wear their masks below their nose and, in the ski locker room, are entirely maskless. The hotel is great and has a lot of space, theirs a lot to do in the hotel also besides being outside in the snow. The onsen and massage is great also and add the breakfast and dinner to your stay, you won’t regret it! It’s very peaceful and relaxing and we enjoy coming here. It is also unique and nice inside the hotel plus the onsen is great. My room was a bit dingy and dated, but seemed clean. Downside is that it a bus ride away from literally any other biz or hotel, so you are limited to the hotel for food or whatever else you need.
