We were not disappointed with the 24 Sweets. From the shikibuton beds, tatami mats and in house onsen, we really got to experience the traditional experience. The ski locker and boot room was very convenient. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Room clean on arrival, no lift but only 2 stories high. No housekeeping during our 4 night stay, but there was a note to say if we wanted clean towels we could exchange our used ones at reception, which we did no problem. Staff do not speak much English, and front door is locked at 10pm, you have to phone them to get back in! Very much a hostel feel at 4\* hotel prices, would not go back again. The staff are very friendly and helpful. On the first night the manager took us for some excellent traditional Japanese food and offered free lifts to the slopes to beat the queues of the shuttle buses. We also got a discount on our snowboard rental and had a decent breakfast each morning. The location is also ideal, a short drive to the slopes, lots of friendly bars and the information centre is a short walk.
