The neighborhood has many charming qualities, its rich culture among the more noteworthy. Many visitors come to enjoy the natural beauty of the parks, while others visit for the local theater. Myeongdong is a great home base for exploring the greater Seoul area, especially with so many hotels and holiday apartments to choose from.

Sightseeing around Myeongdong

The museums and theaters provide some cultural flavor, while the monuments and historic sites offer insight into local lore. Stroll the halls at Seoul Animation Center, Chojun Textile & Quilt Art Museum, or Postal Museum of Korea. You can buy tickets to live performances at Myeongdong Nanta Theatre, Myeongdong Theater, and Seoul Namsan Gugakdang. Monuments like Myeongdong Cathedral, Korea House, and Seoul International Finance Center are well regarded. Notable landmarks include Namsangol Hanok Village, Seoul Plaza, and Sungnyemun Gate.
