When is the best time to go to Mountain Springs?

The best time to visit Mountain Springs is during the shoulder seasons of spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October). During these months, the weather is pleasantly mild, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and exploring. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer season, allowing for a more relaxed experience. The natural beauty of Mountain Springs is particularly striking in spring with blooming wildflowers or in autumn with the vibrant changing leaves. Couples looking for a romantic getaway will appreciate the serene atmosphere and scenic beauty during these times. There are plenty of opportunities for picturesque walks and enjoying the local cuisine without the hustle and bustle of peak tourist times. For families, spring and autumn offer comfortable temperatures for children to enjoy outdoor adventures without the intense summer heat or the chill of winter.

The Terrace at Lake Junaluska

10/10 Excellent

"We had a wonderful stay; the lake was so beautiful and the rose gardens were still beautiful even in late October on a cloudy day. The breakfast was tasty and the staff was very nice and welcoming; we already want to go back another time!"
