The last stop on this trip was a visit to Montmorrency Falls. While this was quite the site to see, if you don't go there at the crack of dawn during the summer months, you can expect to be one of thousands of people trying to shove their way through. So... leave early and wear comfortable shoes! The hike is fairly small (and not really a hike - more of a path) to get to the actual falls - but the stairs to climb down there are plenty. There is no entrance fee to get into the park, but there is a fee if you choose to do the zip-lining.

It’s big. It’s loud. It has an energy about it that you can feel deep within you. Lots to see. Easy to walk, but the tram up is cool too. If you don’t want to do either, drive the road up behind and park. Whatever your strategy for getting there, it’s really cool! If you have the cajones to whisk past the falls on a zip line, well,there that too!
Québec was founded over 400 years ago, and the Montmorency Waterfalls have been a part of its history every step of the way. So it’s only natural that the falls inspire some of our most enduring folklore. Enter la Dame blanche, or the Lady in White. The legend tells the story of Rose, who was engaged to be married to a soldier during the infamous Seven Years’ War. In 1759 there was a pivotal battle between the French and the English at the base of Montmorency. The humidity of the falls caused the English army’s gunpowder to cake, rendering it useless. They retreated, and the French won the battle. Amongst the casualties, however, lay Rose’s fiancé. Heartbroken, Rose went into mourning and spent her days roaming the falls, calling out her fallen soldier’s name in vain. One night, in a state of shock, she put on her wedding dress and plunged herself into the falls, never to be found again. The story lives on to this day; some say that if you listen closely you can still hear her calling for her lost love against the roar of the falls.
It's a huge fight of stairs, perfect.

The room, staff, amenities were all great during our stay. The only issue was the construction going on downstairs which woke us at 7:30 on a couple of days. Hotels should warn prospective clients in cases like this.
